Remember in the old gangster movies (or the new ones for that matter) in which an ambushed character quickly upturns their desk to create an impromptu barricade while he readies his weapon to return fire? The Bully Table was conceived around this scenario. I wanted to design a table that when needed, could provide a near impenetrable barrier between gangster and intruder.
Constructed entirely from solid aluminum plate with a custom patina, the Bully Table is four quarter-inch thick plates cut, formed and plug-welded to create a base with no visible fasteners.
The half-inch thick aluminum top registers on the base with four hidden pins. The visually bulky legs with thin profiles, coupled with the merging curves of the base plates create a visually dramatic effect as one moves around its perimeter. While its sheer weight makes it nearly impossible to flip at a moment's notice, it does offer several finish and color options to suit any modern gangster or design aficionado.
