We all have reasons for buying the things that we buy. The objects with which we suround ourselves essentialy create our identity. Much thought is put into what identity is transmitted to the rest of the world and which objects most effectivly suport the desired image. We also put a lot of thought into what we dont show the rest of the world. Certain characteristics of our personas including our objects are masked or covered by fronts or hidden away from the judgmental public. In the case of Adam(previous owner), I would imagine that video games may have been one of these things. Ive never really gotten into video games. They always seemed like such a waste of time. Do people really achieve a sense of accomplishment when they surpass a high score, complete a level or beat a game? Do video gamers really have nothing better to do than sit around for hours on end destroying imaginary space aliens and such? Needless to say, in most cases, there are few things less attractive to women than this scenerio, especially when beginning a dating relationship. If a woman is introduced to a new apartment of this seemingly professional person and then is confronted with stacks of video games, controllers, cords etc. she begins to have second thoughts. This product is designed to create a deceptive facade and allow the owner to maintain a more sophisticated identity while masking a less-desireable one. At least at first glance or until there is a firm relationship foundation is established. All evidence of lazy, time wasting is hidden behind an intellectual façade, which may allow the owner to appear to have actual interests that are worthwhile.
